Swiss Mountain-Valley View Lodge

The Swiss Mountain-Valley View Lodge is an absolute place of power.

The house is located at an altitude of 875 meters and faces south. The exceptionally beautiful view extends at a 180 degree angle over the picturesque mountain landscape of the Simmental. And yet the rural, quiet home is less than 20 minutes' drive from the city of Thun and only 40 minutes far from amazing tourist hotspots such as, Interlaken, Mürren, Grindelwald, Gstaad, Bern and many more.

IMPORTANT: Since the house is a historic building that is under monument and heritage protection, built in mid-1748, it is NOT SUITABLE for people over 185 cm tall, as the room heights are only 190 cm. Therefore, the SMVVL cannot be booked if one or more people are taller than a maximum of 185. Complaints and objections after arrival regarding room heights cannot be accepted or taken into account.

The SMVVL is designed to be as low-radiation as possible. For this reason, there is NO microwave, and the stove is a standard glass ceramic, NOT an induction stove.

The country house, which was built in 1765, presents itself in an imposing appearance and conveys the special flair of a collector's item. The architectural features of this house, built from moon wood, retain an authentic charm in the traditional style of an Emmental house. The exterior is a listed building. The interior, on the other hand, has been completely renovated with a lot of passion and corresponds to a high standard of living that leaves practically nothing to be desired. The owners have paid particular attention to the timeless appearance of the rooms. Select materials serve functionality and ensure a harmonious combination of old and modern. The large half of the house with 5½ rooms and several easily usable adjoining rooms on the ground floor is available for holiday rental.

The private parking space is a single garage with an electric gate.

Holiday guests can relax, enjoy and unwind in the beautiful, south-facing garden.

After your booking, you will receive a booking confirmation with all the necessary information about arrival and departure and your stay. You will also be issued with guest cards in advance, which will give you numerous discounts in the region during your entire stay in the SMVVL.

The tourist and spa taxes are not included in the rental price and must be paid separately before arrival. The invoice for the taxes will be sent by email before arrival and must be paid no later than one day before arrival. With the tourist taxes you receive the guest cards with many benefits: free train and bus travel in the region, discounts on mountain railways and museums, etc. The costs for the taxes are: CHF 2.40/day/adult, CHF 0.70/day/child (6-16 years), children up to 6 years free.

The Swiss Mountain-Valley View Lodge can be reached by car all year round. The municipality of Erlenbach i.S. has its own train station and is on the route between Bern/Thun/Spiez/Zweisimmen/Gstaad/Lenk. Regional public transport is free with the Simmental Card, the guest card for your holiday in Simmental. Further information about the guest card is available via this link.
